Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Burton!

Friday, July 23 my sister and Tyson got married. What a fun day! It was raining in the morning, and sprinkled a little as we were heading to Waverly to take pictures, but the sky cleared and it ended up being a gorgeous day for the outdoor ceremony at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly. The sad part, is that you never seem to get enough pictures when you are part of the wedding day. Darren was in charge of Ava, so he didn't get many either. I'm so excited to see the professional pictures!

Ava rode in a wagon and was pulled down the aisle by the ringer bearer, Braydon Foster. They both did such a good job! I had my cousins Kendra and Hannah stand in the back with them and instruct Braydon when to go and remind him to walk slow! He walked slow alright! It was great... everyone got a good look at the two of them!

I had a brief moment of panic when I got to the alter. Mike, the friend of theirs presiding over the ceremony handed me the ring box. I opened it to double check for the ring, and AHHH!!! No Ring! I was panicking, trying to catch the eye of one of the groomsmen to make sure he had it. He ended up having it, but I didn't know that until it was time for the rings!

I was also extremely nervous for my speech at the reception. I text Darren during dinner "I'm having a hard time eating because I'm so nervous." His response? "SUCK IT UP!" Gee... thanks DJ! The speech went great. I even asked Darren "on a scale of 1 to 10, how good was it?" TEN! Smart man! Hehe!

Congrats, again Tyson and Rachel! And Tyson, welcome to the family! I know more than anyone that my sister can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but I love her... so you'd better take darn good care of her!

First fair!

Friday, July 16 I took Ava to the Franklin County Fair with Grandma Cindy and cousins Emily and Josie. It was a hot day and Ava was such a trooper. I didn't take her on any rides, but showed her the baby cows, pigs and chickens. She didn't seem to care about them. We may have a city girl on our hands!

After the fair I dropped her off with Nana and Papa and she stayed the night with them since Mommy and Daddy both had to work the next day. They got a good 24 hours of Ava spoiling time... and they loved every minute of it!

It was also Uncle Joshy's 27th birthday.... so a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU from Ava! She sure loves her Uncle Joshy time! (I'm still trying to figure out how my LITTLE brother is turning 27!

Ear Infection?

Ava has had this nagging cough for about a month now. We've already seen the doctor twice for it in the last month. The doctor wasn't concerned with it, said it might just be allergies and suggested Benadryl at night. We've been trying the Benadryl, but this past week the cough seemed to be worse so I called to get in for another appointment. I was surprised to learn that Ava has a small ear infection. Ava has been her normal happy self and hasn't been tugging at her ear at all! The doctor said it could be the after effects of the nagging cough and runny nose. We were sent home with a prescription of Amoxicillian, to be given 3 times a day for 10 days. What a joy... this child HATES medicine! I feel so bad holding her down and squeezing her mouth shut to make her swallow it. We have to see the doctor again at the end of 10 days to make sure the infection is gone.

Spaghetti!

Last night we had spaghetti for supper, so I cut and mashed some up for Ava to try. She LOVED it!!! I also tried putting it on her tray and having her eat it herself, but she didn't like to touch it. Too messy. (I'm going to have one of those kids that screams when she gets dirty, aren't I?)

My 4th of July baby...

Just wanted to share a cute photo from the 4th. The rain let up for a second, so I took Ava out for a couple of photos.

9 months old

Ava currently weighs 24 lbs, 4 oz. The weight gain is slowing down, but she's still off the charts! Her height is 30 inches (99th percentile). Her head size is 90th percentile. She still doesn't have any teeth!

At 9 months, Ava can:
crawl
stand with little help when holding on to a push toy or your hands
play by herself so well. It is so fun watching her entertain herself!
play peek-a-boo
play patty-cake

This month we started introducing more foods for Ava to try. I let her have one of the Gerber biter biscuit cookies and she loved it. She has also tried watermelon and cantaloupe. We've also started introducing more of the Gerber 3rd foods. Ava had "Turkey, Rice, and Vegetables" for the first time last night. The texture of the 3rd foods is a bit thicker and chunkier so she made some funny faces, however she kept opening her mouth for more so I think she liked it!

I have also stopped nursing. Up until last week I was still nursing her once a day in the morning. She has transitioned to 100% formula like a champ.

Ava is still wearing size 12 month clothing. She is now wearing size 4 diapers.

Even though Ava has only been crawling for a couple of weeks, she has really picked up some speed. Its so cute when you leave the room for a second and she follows you. Its definitely not has easy to get things done anymore, because she is most interested in playing with the things she shouldn't... such as, Sophie's toys, shoes, cell phones, magazines, and photo albums.

What a fun day!

We had such a fun Mommy and Ava day today! We started the morning with some playtime and then had Ava's 9 month well check at 8:45. Everything went well and she was quite the ham for the ladies at Dr. Huwe's office! After her appointment we headed to Target for some Ava purchases! Seriously, everything in the cart was for Ava! A cart load of baby food and snacks, a baby gate, diapers, wipes, and two new car seats! Ava has officially grown out of her infant car seat.

After lunch, my cousin Stacey text me and said she was taking her daughter, Taylor to The Falls and asked if we wanted to join. I talked it over with Ava and she of course wanted to go! We got our suits on and headed there! We had a fun afternoon on the lazy river and splashing in the kiddie area. Ava loves the water and had a blast! She had such a good time and was so worn out she was asleep before we were even out of the parking lot!

Here she is clapping. She also kept clapping on the lazy river, she must have really loved it!

Sleeping Beauty

Ava played outside on the deck while we grilled supper. We played and read some books. Then had a bath and was ready for bed by 7:45! Such a fun day is very exhausting!

Tomorrow I have to work and Ava is going to spend the morning with Aunt Rachel so Darren can get the lawn mowed. Then it will be Daddy and Ava time in the afternoon!
