Cereal

Ava had her first taste of cereal on Monday night. She didn't seem to know what to do with it, so she spit most of it out and made awful faces (which were hilarious!) We've been trying it every day since. I wish I would have gotten it on video tonight when I was feeding her. It went something like this: Give her a bite, she makes awful face, I say, "Do you like it, Ava?" She responds with a huge smile. She is totally got us wrapped around her little chubby fingers! What a doll!

P.S. I can't get the photo uploader to work right now, so I'll have to post the pictures another time.

4 months old!

I cannot believe 4 months has passed since Ava was born! The weeks just seem to fly by! Ava is still a very happy, smiley baby. She has really started laughing out loud more and more. It is so much fun to see how much she is learning and changing from day to day. We are so much in love with her!

Ava currently weighs 18 lbs, 7 oz and was 26 1/4 inches long. She is in the 99th percentile for height and weight, head size was 75%. She is still wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes, but we are transitioning to 6-9 month. She is wearing size 3 diapers.

We tried rice cereal for the first time today. She wasn't quite sure what to think about the whole thing. She kept making horrible faces and spit most of it out. It was so funny!

At 4 months Ava can:
laugh out loud
notice and see me from across the room
grasp her toys/rattles and put them in her mouth
bear some weight on her legs when held upright
sit with minimal support

Ava is also sleeping between 10 and 11 hours most nights. She usually goes to bed between 9 and 10 pm and usually sleeps until 7 or 8 am. It is not uncommon for me to have to wake her up before at 7:45 so that I can feed her before I leave for work. She is definitely a good little sleeper!

Ava hasn't rolled over, but I think it could happen any day. She is also very aware of her surrounding and has become very interested in what is going on around her! She is still somewhat of a Mommy's girl, but is enjoying her time with Daddy as well.
