Babymooning in Omaha

What is a "Babymoon" you ask? The term is used to describe a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the many sleepless nights that usually accompany a newborn baby. With only six weeks to go and not wanting to spend all of our baby budget on a vacation we opted to stay somewhat close to home. I didn't care where we went, I just wanted to get away. Darren decided upon Omaha because of their Strategic Air and Space Museum.

We left late Saturday morning, stopped in Des Moines for lunch at Granite City and got to Omaha around 4 or so Saturday afternoon. We checked into our hotel, which was very nice and located in the Old Market district of downtown Omaha. We did a lot of "touristy" things while in Omaha, but mostly it was nice to get away and have some quality time for just the two of us. We visited the Air and Space Museum like Darren wanted to. Also, the Joslyn Castle (which was so cool and highly recommended!) Also, took a boat ride in one of the parks near the river and an old fashioned horse and carriage ride! We ate way too much at the yummy restaurants located in the Old Market. We had a great time!
