Happy Baby!

Ava is such a happy girl. I love when I come home from work and she just gives me one of her big smiles. I just makes my day. I hope it makes yours as well.

Rest in Peace, Grandma Ruby

On January 5, Darren's 93 year old Grandma Ruby Mason passed away. She was a strong, independent woman who loved her family (especially little Ava) very much. She lost her sight 14 years ago, and continued to live alone until she passed. She had three children, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

3 months old

Ava currently weighs 16 lbs, 12 oz.

At 3 months old Ava can:
hold her head up very well
smile spontaneously
laugh out loud/squeal when she is excited
follow objects a foot or more away


Ava still loves music and toys that light up. She loves to be read to and will sit for pretty long periods of time and talk back while you are reading. I also heard her on more than one occasion say "mama". (I know my ears probably WANT to hear this, but I have witnesses!!) She will also turn her head in direction of my voice when I'm talking to her. She is a chatter box and will sort of seem to have a conversation right along with you. From the amount of drool she has been producing lately, I'd say she is teething. She also had become some-what of a mommy's girl. There are time when no one but mommy will do! Its amazing to me how they learn that from such a young age!

It is amazing to watch her learn and develop so much in these short three months. Everyday is an adventure and we couldn't be happier to have such a healthy, smart, beautiful little girl.

Happy Christmas

Or should I say Merry New Year? I can't believe I let the holiday season slip by without posting any pictures or writing about Ava's first Christmas!! We had a fabulous time and because of a snow storm we ended up going a day early and staying an extra day... Nana and Papa sure loved that!
